Decisions on the need for further purchases will be made depending on the dynamics of demand, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Delrus holding has become the single supplier of medical masks to the regions. According to the ministry, this is the only company that, during the outbreak of coronavirus in China, was able to arrange the supply of 2 million masks to China in two days. That is why Delrus was chosen as the operator for the supply of masks from China.

"The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the Russian Ministry of Defense and Delrus, quickly built a logistics supply chain. The first supply contract was signed on March 17, when only 114 cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia, and the first shipment arrived on March 23," reported in the department.

Also, according to the ministry, in April Russian manufacturers produced about 138.5 million masks, during the same period about 105 million masks were supplied from China. In general, Russia produces up to 9 million masks per day, of which 3 million are medical.

Recall that with such volumes of production and supplies, the shortage of personal protective equipment for doctors remains the most acute problem of Russian healthcare during a pandemic. The lack of basic means, including protective masks, exists in almost all regions of Russia, as stated, in particular, by the medical trade union "Alliance of Doctors". In addition, due to lengthy bureaucratic procedures, doctors prefer to seek help from charitable foundations, rather than from the structures of the Ministry of Health.
