COVID treatment costs for those hospitalized outside the ambulance line may exceed 200 thousand rubles

FFOMS has determined the cost of treatment for patients admitted by gravity of moderate severity at 100 thousand rubles, for "severe" - at 200 thousand and more. The directive not to pay for treatment by "gravity" was explained by "safety reasons"

“If everyone with COVID symptoms today decides to go somewhere by gravity, then at least he endangers everyone around him. And if he comes to a hospital where they don't work with coronavirus at all? Or to a hospital where there are no more places? The ambulance always has information - and you will definitely be taken to the hospital where you will be admitted. Moscow's decision is definitely not connected with a lack of funds, but aimed at the correct routing of patients,”said Elena Chernyakova, chairman of the FFOMS.

She noted that hospitals that work with coronavirus patients today do bear additional costs. But the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 03.04.2020 N 432 "On the specifics of the implementation of the basic compulsory health insurance program in the face of the threat of the spread of diseases caused by a new coronavirus infection" provides for this situation. The normalized safety stock provides for filling, including at the expense of additional funds from the federal budget.

“We are now monitoring to understand how necessary this compensation will be,” said the FFOMS chairman. "The situation is far from critical so far."

Earlier, the Vademecum website reported that at the end of March MGFOMS determined the cost of treatment for COVID at 200 thousand rubles per person. Taking into account the latest figures for patients with coronavirus registered in the capital (about 32,000 people) minus Muscovites with a mild course of the disease staying at home (about 7,000), the costs for patients with COVID were estimated at five billion rubles.
