The Ministry of Health has updated recommendations for the treatment of SARS during the COVID pandemic
Earlier, the Moscow mayor's office said that now the capital's doctors will diagnose "suspected coronavirus" to all patients with acute respiratory viral infection.
The recommendations addressed to health care workers in the outpatient service are aimed at the immediate start of outpatient treatment for patients with ARVI-symptoms before they are tested for coronavirus. Doctors are offered new regimens for the treatment and prevention of the disease, as well as drug combinations.
"It has been clinically proven that it is the early start of treatment that provides an easier, shorter course of the disease in patients with COVID-19," the Ministry of Health said.
As the department clarifies, all recommendations have been updated and finalized taking into account new clinical data obtained both in our country and abroad.
On the eve of the Moscow mayor's office announced that now every case of SARS in the capital will be regarded as a suspicion of coronavirus. According to Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova, this decision was made due to the fact that in the conditions of the rapid spread of infection, it is quite difficult to distinguish the early stage of COVID-19 from SARS.
In this regard, patients with characteristic symptoms will be provided with enhanced outpatient supervision, which involves daily monitoring of their health status through telephone calls. In the event of a sharp deterioration in the patient's health, the therapy will be immediately adjusted, the vice mayor emphasized.
