It is reported that the guaranteed processing of the first 20 thousand medical transport systems has already been carried out, by May the volumes will be increased to 300 thousand pieces.

The first line of radiation sterilization of medical transport test systems for coronavirus has been launched at Rosatom's subsidiary Sterion in the Moscow region. According to the press service of the industry integrator in the region "Rusatom Healthcare", this method has successfully proved itself in the processing of breathing masks, overalls and medical materials, now it will be used to sterilize the currently demanded test systems.

At the moment, the guaranteed processing of the first 20 thousand test systems has been carried out, by the end of April the volumes will have reached 150 thousand.

“In May we are planning to reach 300 thousand,” said Alexander Shibanov, General Director of Rusatom Healthcare.

Medical transport systems are designed for taking biological samples and transporting them to the diagnostic site using in vitro methods.

Radiation sterilization technology allows you to process ready-made and packaged test systems to sterile conditions - right in the manufacturer's cardboard shipping container. Thus, the process is accelerated both at this stage and in the subsequent: the product processed by the stream of accelerated electrons immediately becomes usable.
