The incidence of COVID-19 in Moscow will decline until June - expert of the Ministry of Health

A decrease in the number of cases of coronavirus infection in Moscow can be expected in June-July, believes the head of the Department of Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine of the I.M. THEM. Sechenov, chief freelance epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health Nikolai Briko. He stated this on the air of the Doctor TV channel.
According to the expert, doctors expect a turning point in the epidemic in late April or early May, which will allow to reach a plateau, after which the incidence rate in the capital will decline.
Brico also stressed that this is an optimistic scenario, which will be implemented only if all recommendations on self-isolation and safety are followed. He also announced the need to create a system to contain the spread of the virus.
Earlier, Russian representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that this week the increase in the number of infected people in the country will continue. On April 7, the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, Veronika Skvortsova, announced that 10-14 days remained before the peak of the epidemic in the country, and the decline in incidence would begin no earlier than June.
