Head of the Ministry of Health of Komi removed from office after COVID outbreaks in regional hospitals
On the eve, Dmitry Berezin submitted his resignation against the backdrop of numerous cases of coronavirus infection in the republic. In his place was appointed the former director of the medical unit number 38 of the city of Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region, Victoria Filin.

Berezin himself said that it is incorrect to associate his resignation with the coronavirus epidemic.
Previously, COVID-2019 outbreaks were registered in several hospitals in the Komi Republic. In particular, eight patients of the Ezhva hospital ended up in intensive care. According to the operational headquarters, as of April 10, 208 cases of new coronavirus infection were registered in Komi. Quarantine was introduced in addition to Ezhvinskaya in the Knyazhpogostsk central regional hospital and in the Republican clinical hospital. Three cases of death in patients with COVID have been confirmed in the republic.
