Why was homeopathy moved or "Matter Medica"

Moscow neurologist Alexander Vavilov uses osteopathy, applied kinesiotherapy, and homeopathy in his practice. They know him well in the city, patients secretly recommend him to friends and relatives. We asked him to tell us what he thinks about the memorandum of the Commission on Pseudoscience of the Russian Academy of Sciences and about the headlines "Homeopathy was recognized as a pseudoscience!"

Here's what he told us:

“Starting at lunchtime on February 6th, my phones started to go off. The callers had one question: "What happened?" For decades homeopathy and homeopaths have not been touched, but here you are! Practically a resolution of the party and government!

There is a question - you have to answer. Why homeopathy was "moved" and who is to blame. It is possible that the main culprits are the homeopaths themselves, who passed off wishful thinking as reality.

Maybe not so much they, as advertisers who work for them, who naturally “slightly exaggerate” the capabilities of their clients - chiropractors, osteopaths, dentists.

And the doctors of "borderline specialties", homeopaths, kinesiologists, phytotherapists shouldn't pull the blanket over themselves, proving that their method of treatment was the main thing in the victory over this or that ailment.

But let’s still see what makes it possible for some people to throw such bomb words as “pseudoscience” in the direction of homeopathy.

I would focus on the following aspects:

1. The appointment of homeopathic medicines (GMP) occurs through certain algorithms, which do not always require strict medical knowledge - just read the book "A Brief Repertory and Matter of Medicine of Homeopathic Medicines"

2. There are no reliable methods of express diagnostics, selection of GMF for a patient in his various, rapidly changing health conditions. Interrogating the patient gives an extremely subjective picture, because one has to deal only with the presentation of complaints and the description of feelings by the patient himself, who can only be trusted by a third. He will not notice another third of his symptoms, or he will forget what to say about them. And the rest will be hidden or deceived.

3. The appointment of GMF is based on a kind of philosophy of the selection of GMF, conservative enough for the doctor to freely vary the prescription of drugs, it is difficult to explain the purpose of GMF, if their action is not prescribed in the above-mentioned book of Materia Medica or the Repertory.

4. Criteria for assessing the effect of GMF on the body are important, and not its "convalescent" effect as such. This is the main difference between the GMF and the action of allopathic drugs, which really puts the patient receiving the GMF into a stupor, and provides food to anyone who wants to doubt the effectiveness of the GMF.

Nevertheless, the effect of GMF is diagnosable and perceptible!

And let's finally understand that homeopathic medicines (HMP) do not “cure”, but neutralize the factor of pathological impact on the body as a whole, the system, organ, tissue, cell and - to the smallest links of which we are in accordance with modern concepts in natural science.

With inadequate prescription of homeopathic medicines (GMP), they themselves can become an additional pathological irritant, they can create or intensify some of the patient's complaints.

Their purpose is a special philosophy that requires not only an understanding of how GMF is created, but also due to what, and what it acts on.

At the same time, in matters of prescribing GMF, there are certain discrepancies (for example, in the number of prescribed drugs) between various homeopathic schools and the homeopaths themselves. Each defends his innocence in disputes that have been going on for two hundred years. And it's not a joke.

But only the patient himself can be right here, who, with adequate prescription of homeopathic medicines, received a therapeutic effect, or did not receive it.

And another important point: in the whole complex of therapeutic effects it is difficult to isolate the effect exerted by homeopathy itself. And who is treated only by GMF and nothing else? Units!

It is usually pointless to use only one method of treatment if it is not a panacea…. However, it can be used more effectively if not only to understand the pathogenetic link of exposure, but also to take into account the characteristics of the disease itself, as a nosological unit (or pathological process), its phase, severity, duration, interrelationships of pathological effects on tissues, organs and systems of the body., and properly assess the patient's health status (FFP).

Evaluation of FFP for "here and now" is the most difficult moment in medicine, it is quite mobile due to numerous factors of influence: both pathological and sanogenetic. Each GMF acts, as a rule, in a narrow "corridor" of health level, which sometimes leads to the need to replace the GMF with another when reaching tactical boundaries in treatment. I will add that the methods for assessing the patient's health when prescribing an OAB should be express methods, since in a different scenario it is impossible to ensure the exact prescription of an OAB.

And the fact that the effect of homeopathy on the body is relatively weak is, under certain conditions, is "good"!

Especially in people with a significantly reduced level of health - even if something was not taken into account - you will not greatly harm the patient.

But why was the question of homeopathy raised at the RAS? I think that someone was promised a recovery, but they did not achieve the desired effect and complaints were drawn.

Or someone wanted to "pull" homeopathy to a higher level and make it a specialty … Only for what?

Treat correctly and patients will come to you. Do not doubt.
