Eating fried meat is dangerous for the heart

Not the best news for steak lovers: fried meat is heart-damaging. Scientists from the University of Edinburgh decided to find out how the method of cooking meat affects the health of people in different countries. They concluded that cooking at high temperatures resulted in high levels of trans fat, which increased the likelihood of developing heart problems.
In those countries where they preferred to fry meat, such diseases were indeed more common. In Pakistan, where meat was often cooked in a tandoor oven at very high temperatures, men were 62% more likely to die of heart attacks than in England and Wales. And, for example, in China, where meat was more often cooked or stewed, cardiovascular diseases were less common.
The researchers plan to continue their experiments to find out how else ethnic characteristics (in particular, dietary habits) affect the development of people in different countries.
Earlier experiments indicate that eating meat that is fried or charcoal increases the risk of cancer. Just one steak a week has been shown to increase the likelihood of bowel tumors, and that kebab or chop lovers are more likely to develop kidney cancer. Note, however, that red meat was recognized as the most dangerous, which researchers recommended replacing with poultry, fish or legumes.
