The reason for the mass poisoning of the forum participants was gross violations of the sanitary and epidemiological regime in the catering unit, the Rospotrebnadzor administration in the Tver region said today. Today 37 people remain in hospitals.

145 participants of the youth forum "Seliger-2014" in the Tver region asked for medical help the day before. All showed symptoms of food poisoning. 45 people were immediately hospitalized, ITAR-TASS reports.

The reason for the massive poisoning of the forum participants was gross violations of the sanitary and epidemiological regime in the food unit, the Rospotrebnadzor administration in the Tver region said today. The organizing committee of the forum believes that the officers on duty in several detachments received food in the kitchen and carried it to the camp, after which the food stood in the heat for several hours and deteriorated.

Today 37 people remain in hospitals, their condition is assessed as satisfactory. The patients are expected to be discharged shortly.

The youth forum "Seliger-2014" started on July 13. All the victims were participants in the new session of the forum - they arrived on July 20 and were taken to hospitals on the same day. It is expected that the forum can be visited by about 20 thousand people.
