Thus, the list of VED for 2014 can be published only after the government adopts a relevant resolution. "At present, in accordance with the legislation, the publication of a new list of vital and essential drugs is possible only in accordance with the procedure approved by the government of the Russian Federation," the Ministry of Healthcare informs.

On December 13, Kommersant wrote that HIV-infected people who need treatment with Tenofovir may not receive this medicine in 2014, since the Ministry of Health is delaying the adoption of the list of vital and essential medicines for the next year. According to the newspaper, the ministry promised to publish the list in November, but it is still being coordinated. The VED list has not changed since 2012, and Tenofovir is absent from it.

The draft resolution on the approval of the procedure for the formation of various lists of medicines, including the list of vital and essential drugs, has been submitted for public discussion on the Internet portal www.regulation.gov.ru. The coordination of the preparation of draft lists of medicinal products was entrusted to the commission of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

The proposal to include the drug "Tenofovir" in the list of vital and essential drugs, the press service notes, will become possible "after the adoption of the relevant regulatory legal act and the creation of an appropriate commission."
