In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the surgeon of the Shushenskaya central regional hospital is accused of a medical error, which, according to the investigation, led to the death of the patient. According to the press service of the RF IC department for the region, a criminal case has been initiated into the death of a woman after a chest puncture performed in the Shushenskaya Central Regional Hospital.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the surgeon of the Shushenskaya central regional hospital is accused of a medical error, which, according to the investigation, led to the death of the patient. According to the press service of the RF IC department for the region, a criminal case has been initiated into the death of a woman after a chest puncture, carried out in the Shushenskaya Central Regional Hospital.

In January, a 30-year-old patient with a serious illness was admitted to the Shushenskaya CRH. On February 2, the surgeon who came on duty, having familiarized himself with the patient's X-ray, decided to carry out a chest puncture for diagnostic purposes.

“After the manipulations by the doctor, the patient's liver and spleen were damaged, profuse bleeding occurred, as a result of which the woman died. According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the punctures were performed technically incorrectly, without taking into account the maximum possible immersion length of the puncture needle,”the statement says.

In connection with the death of a woman, the TFR indicted the doctor of the Shushenskaya Central District Hospital of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence due to improper performance by a person of his professional duties). The investigation is currently ongoing.
