According to the deputy chairman of the government of the republic, Alexander Borisov, who was present at the presentation of this novelty in the republican hospital No. 2, the use of bracelets is an absolute innovation for Yakutia.

In hospitals in Yakutsk, patients will be issued with identification bracelets, in the barcode of which their medical history and other data are recorded. According to the deputy chairman of the government of the republic, Alexander Borisov, who was present at the presentation of this novelty in the republican hospital No. 2, the use of bracelets is an absolute innovation for Yakutia, RIA Novosti reports.

The presentation of identification bracelets and medical tablets, with the help of which information is read from the barcode on the bracelet, took place on December 11.

“Medical identification bracelets are wrist bracelets made of durable waterproof material containing information encoded in a barcode. The bracelets do not deform or tear; they can be decoded by a reading device - a medical tablet. If necessary, information can be printed out on a printer,”a representative of the republic's government told the agency.

The barcode of the bracelet contains complete information necessary for the patient's treatment - personal data, diagnosis, data of the initial examination upon admission to the hospital, test results, information about operations and doctor's prescriptions. Since the beginning of November, the bracelets have been tested in the traumatology and trauma and orthopedic departments of the hospital.

According to Borisov, the use of information technology in medicine is another step to improve patient care and improve the working conditions of doctors.
