On Tuesday, December 10, during a meeting with the governors, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets ordered to put the buildings of Russian hospitals in order everywhere, ITAR-TASS reports. According to her, the poor condition of hospitals, which does not meet modern requirements, is one of the breakdowns in Russian healthcare.

As Olga Golodets noted, along with positive trends in the healthcare industry, there are still many problems that need to be addressed.

“We see that our population's satisfaction with the healthcare system is growing,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. "But in terms of infrastructure, there is a whole set of problems that have not yet been resolved."

One of them, according to Golodets, is the dilapidation of some hospital buildings. “These are, first of all, hospitals for specialized care: neuropsychiatric, tuberculosis, and in many regions these are infectious diseases hospitals,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Golodets asked the governors to think and draw up plans, according to which it would be possible to bring all regional health facilities into a normal form that would meet modern requirements.

“You should not have dilapidated hospitals that do not meet modern requirements,” the Deputy Prime Minister stressed in her address to the governors.
