[Salmonellosis outbreak] under investigation in Krasnoyarsk Krai

The prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is investigating an outbreak of salmonellosis in the Abanskiy, Nizhneingashskiy districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the city of Kansk, which killed 22 people, six of them children. As the inspection showed, the cause of the disease was the consumption of confectionery products made in the bakery of a local individual entrepreneur.

The prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is investigating an outbreak of salmonellosis in the Abanskiy, Nizhneingashskiy districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the city of Kansk, which killed 22 people, six of them children. As the inspection showed, the cause of the disease was the consumption of confectionery products made in the bakery of a local individual entrepreneur, the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported.

In October, the victims filed a complaint with the Aban District Prosecutor's office with a complaint that after eating a cake made by an individual entrepreneur, four children were hospitalized with poisoning. As it turned out, in Kansk and in Aban and Nizhneingash districts from October 7 to 22, 22 cases of salmonellosis were recorded, six of whom were minors.

An epidemiological investigation carried out by the chief state sanitary doctor in the Krasnoyarsk Territory revealed that all those infected with salmonellosis ate cakes and biscuit roll, which were made in the same confectionery. When checking in a bakery owned by an individual entrepreneur, violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements were revealed.

On December 9, the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory sent four statements of claim to the Abanskiy District Court, which contained requirements for the individual entrepreneur to compensate for moral damage. The total amount of claims is 200 thousand rubles. On the initiative of the prosecutor, a pre-investigation check of the circumstances of the incident was also started.
