More than four dozen soldiers contracted pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to ITAR-TASS, one of the patients died.
An outbreak of pneumonia occurred among the servicemen of the missile division in Uzhur. Two dozen of the sick were hospitalized in Krasnoyarsk medical facilities. Three soldiers are in the intensive care unit of the regional clinical hospital.
The official representative of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel Vadim Koval, said that at present 23 more servicemen diagnosed with pneumonia are in the hospital of the missile unit. According to him, doctors do not associate the outbreak of infection with hypothermia. "The temperature in the compound's barracks has not dropped below plus 18 degrees Celsius over the past month," the colonel stressed.
In addition, Koval said that two helicopters with a brigade of military doctors and medical equipment were sent from Novosibirsk to help the sick soldiers. If necessary, they will evacuate servicemen with pneumonia to the Novosibirsk military hospital.
The military prosecutor's office began an investigation into an outbreak of pneumonia in the Uzhur missile unit. Their relatives can receive information about the health status of servicemen from the command of the Uzhur missile formation by calling 8 (923) 377-2951.
